nishimura staff dressed in kimono | camera Sony NEX-7
Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Last sunday, I was invited to special lunch at Nishimura, Japanese restaurant.
Nishimura offers authentic Japanese cuisine, presenting a combination of fresh ingredients and traditional Japanese cooking style. Sushi and Sashimi, Teppanyaki and Kaiseki are to name a view. The dishes portray fine quality of detailed Japanese cuisine art.
My friend Dian Onno is always a reluctant participant in my food blogging assignments in Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta. She always ‘complains’ that by the time I finish taking photos of the dish, her food is cold haha!
Nishimura, reflects the ambience of both traditional and modern Japanese eatery, decorated with paper lanterns, black lacquer tables and natural stone pathways under the bamboo-roofed aisle.

amazing timlo solo | Camera Sony alpha NEX-7
Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Last week, I was invited to lunch at Warung Makan Timlo Sasro 2, a traditional Javanese restaurant in Solo.
Timlo is a famous soup in Solo. Timlo is special dish contains of chicken meat chopped into pieces, cooked egg and chicken’s liver in clear soup. Served to accompany fried onion topping rice. Unlike the typical Timlo in other local town, Timlo Solo is served without mushroom and thin noodles.
This is my ABSOLUTE favourite. Timlo sastro becomes one of the most wanted local food when someone travels to Solo. One bowl is never enough. Ahhhh DELICIOUS!!!

ciu maker with black cane molasses or tetes | Camera Sony alpha NEX-7
Traveljunkieindonesia.com – Travel like a ciu maker at Bekonang village, Sukoharjo district, not far from Solo in Central Java Province.
At the entrance to the village, a rusty, official-looking sign says that this is a home-industry alcohol-producing village. And, the distillers in Bekonang say that their ancestors were making ciu since before the Dutch came there.
After the Diponegoro War, Bekonang was then already a famous producer of ciu.
